What will the kids do at chess camp? In the morning after some warm up and casual play, they will play a “quad” style tournament (with rated and unrated sections depending on experience level) where kids are grouped with other players around their experience level. (To answer the inevitable question of all of the campers, yes, there will be trophies for the quad winners 😃. ) After the games are completed, they can review them with the instructors. (This is the best way to improve at chess). The rest of the day is comprised of interactive chess lessons, lots of casual chess play and “chess choice time”, snack, recess, lunch, and fun chess-related activities such as team chess, chess trivia and puzzle contests. You can view the schedule of activities here.
